Here's a little bit about myself and my background.

When people ask me what I do, I tell them I’m a producer and storyteller with a focus on helping independent filmmakers craft their films! My specialty ranges from the development of script through to distribution. Looking to find tomorrow’s great writers, directors, editors — reach out, I know some all-stars. Need help developing a communications strategy and then executing it — ping me, I know the way. Stuck in the post-production phase — I might have a fix! Why do I work in so many facets of the filmmaking space?

The first chapter of my story began on Capitol Hill in the early 2010s. I cut my teeth as a communications director in Congressional Leadership that produced and directed digital media. Then it was onto FWD.us, a non-profit founded by Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, where I was their inaugural communications director who built an entire office and operations. After producing hundreds of successful media packages, I decided to make the leap to full entrepreneurship in 2017.

Uncovering Storytelling and Community

Public Service provided me with the discipline and breadth of experiences I needed to shape my voice as a storyteller, but also realize that all of us on the filmmaker’s journey is part of a community. We need to support each other on this amazing and vulnerable adventure. Over the last decade, I have used that background to curate my expertise.

For me, a great independent film goes beyond technique. It’s the result of a cultivated connection between the artists and their work under a controlled budget. I believe everyone has a story to tell. My goal is to champion you throughout your journey.

My approach is simple and it starts with a conversation where I get to listen to where you are on the journey and how I can help you get to where you’re going.

“A rising tide lifts, all ships,“ is a common phrase you’ll hear Michael repeating. He splits his time between Washington, DC, and his 5th generation family farm in Connecticut, with Kaitlin, their daughter Emmi, son Wyatt, and undomesticated yet devoted canine of twelve years— Monty.
