The Style and Why...
College instilled in me traits, both good and bad.
One that continues to gnaw on me is history. History in every aspect, from the recorder-- whose bias is being recorded. To the reader-- whose impact can be boundless. When ingesting art-- history is the Kantian lens through which we perceive, sometimes. This is my attempt to clearly provide additional historical context to my career (executive producing) and its art.
In an effort to simplify, this newsletter will be short blurbs on two topics, only— Lessons Learned (reviews of past experiences) and Dispatches (recordings of current events). For Lessons Learned, my process is to follow the style of legal writing using the IRAC Method (Issue, Rule, Application, & Conclusion). It is a straightforward approach to reviewing a circumstance that allows breathing room for proper evaluations. Dispatches, on the other hand, will consist of impressions, muses, or updates about my filmmaking career as it progresses.
